The Miami Heat will enter this coming season with a new attitude. They should though, as they’ll have a, somewhat, totally new cast of characters to make the movie with.

One thing that really bothered them last season was their toughness stuff though. What’s “toughness stuff”, might one ask?

Well, that’s the stuff that requires being tough and physical. Still not explanatory enough?

Rebounding, positioning, hard-screens, paint production, rim scoring, paint protection, and rim protection… to name a few of the most important toughness factors, are the key things at play here. Ranking nearly dead last in total rebounding last season, that illustrates how it was a huge problem for Miami on last season.

However, that seems to be no more!

The Miami Heat were beat up last season early, before adding Dwayne Dedmon. Even though he helped, they added even more to go along with him this season.

With a big man rotation that will, probably consist of Bam Adebayo, Dewayne Dedmon, Omer Yurtseven, P.J. Tucker, and Markieff Morris… on the regular, the Miami Heat are now wealthy in an area that has been a problem over the last season or so.

Though that starts to present its own set of problems, rotationally, as far as who will play when and with who in what combination, those are great problems to have. If you ever have a problem where you can’t choose something… because you have too many options, you really don’t have a problem at all.

That, in all actuality, just means that you have more opportunity to get it right, be great at whatever, or room for error, at the very least. That’s the situation that the Miami Heat find themselves in at the moment when it comes to their big man rotation.

It may not be clear who will get the first minutes beside Bam. Heck, the coaching staff may not even know yet.

Everything is all good though. The fact that they have so many quality options to choose from, not only means that it’ll be ok in the end, but actually makes this a one of the best issues to have as a team looking to compete at the highest levels.
