The Miami Heat completely reshaped their roster this offseason. They made some very necessary upgrades and put their team in a solid position to contend this year.

They made three key signings this offseason. They brought in Kyle Lowry, PJ Tucker, and Markieff Morris to help improve the team’s star power and depth.

With the additions come some high hopes for the Heat in the 2021-22 season. While the Nets and Bucks may be powerhouses, many expect the Heat to be right up there with them.

In order for that to happen, their new additions have to play well. What should the top expectation be for each of their new signings?

Miami Heat expectation for Markieff Morris: Quality 3&D minutes

Markieff Morris was brought in to provide some depth to the Miami Heat’s rotation. Last season, they didn’t really have an answer at power forward, so this offseason they went out and signed two.

He won’t be a starter this year, but he will likely be a part of the rotation. All he has to do to earn consistent minutes is play solid defense and hit his shots.

The Miami Heat were a great team defensively last season, and they likely want to continue to have that reputation this year. If Morris can play solid defense on opposing forwards, he will surely keep his role in the rotation.

On top of that, Morris has to be able to hit his shots from range. The Heat are always looking to add more shooting, so if Morris can help with that, he’ll earn even more minutes than some might expect.
