Keys for the Miami Heat to secure home-court advantage: Win the season series’ vs the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers

If the Miami Heat want to secure a home-court advantage this year, they need to beat their conference rivals. If there are any tiebreakers, they need to make sure they own them.

The Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks are going to be great. They are projected to be the top two seeds, so Miami’s sights should be set on taking down everyone behind them in the rankings.

Up next will likely be the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers. Both teams are primed to be in the playoffs, and will likely be hoping for home-court advantage as well.

Boston struggled last season in large part due to injuries. However, they shook up their roster this summer and are looking to bounce back.

Behind the play of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics will have something to prove this year. Winning the season series vs Boston would be a great advantage for Miami.

As for the 76ers, the situation is very similar. After a disappointing playoff run last year Philadelphia will want to repeat the regular-season success they had last season.

Battling against Joel Embiid will be a tough task, but not one that Bam Adebayo isn’t up for. Miami will want to clinch the season series vs the Sixers as well.

If the Miami Heat can secure wins in both of those season series, they’ll be in a good spot. That would be huge if they want to get home-court advantage in the playoffs.
