Miami Heat: 5 buy-low trade targets to consider this season
By Jack Simone
One of the most important parts of every season is the trade deadline. As the Miami Heat embark on their quest for an NBA Championship, they will almost certainly be buyers at the deadline.
While there are always the normal mid-season trade targets to consider, they could also look to buy-low on some players. If teams aren’t performing up to par, they may look to re-tool their roster and hold a fire sale.
Last season, teams such as the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors did just that. Orlando traded most of their core players, while Toronto traded away Norman Powell’s expiring contract.
What teams could be put in that situation this upcoming season? Based on those teams, which players should the Miami Heat look to target?
Buy-low trade targets for the Miami Heat: Danuel House
The Houston Rockets are not going to be a good team this year unless Jalen Green proves to be the next LeBron James. If they end up near the bottom of the standings, they’ll likely look to trade their veteran players.
Even if they do play well, selling some of their older players only makes sense. The team is trending in a younger direction and they would benefit from getting younger, anyways.
Danuel House is on a fairly affordable contract that expires at the end of the year. It would be a perfect trade for both teams.
He would be able to provide wing depth to a Heat rotation that lacks just that. His solid defense and three-point shooting are exactly what the Miami Heat should be looking for in a backup wing.
