As the offseason comes to a close, various news outlets are releasing power rankings for the upcoming NBA season. Well, since the Miami Heat made a ton of moves, their rank might differ a lot from last season.

Miami added Kyle Lowry, PJ Tucker, and Markieff Morris to the team this summer. All three of them are set to make a big-time impact this year.

One of the latest news outlets to release their power rankings is CBS Sports. They ranked the Miami Heat as the seventh-best team in the NBA.

This is a relatively fair rating, and most other news outlets are placing the Heat around the same place. NBC Sports just recently ranked them as the sixth-best team in the league.

Though the Heat could end up being one of the best teams in the league, their big three haven’t actually played a game together yet. Most people might want to see them in action before they rank them any higher on their lists.

That being said, they could arguably be ranked higher than some of the teams above him. They may not have experience playing together, but the pure talent is definitely there.

The five teams ranked above the Miami Heat are the Nets, Bucks, Suns, Jazz, Lakers, and Warriors. While some of these rankings make sense, the Heat could easily end up being better than a few of those teams.

The Jazz were a great regular-season team last year, but their playoff failures are seemingly being forgotten about. Realistically, the Heat could end up being a better overall team.

As for teams directly below the Heat, the next five on the list are the Hawks, 76ers, Mavericks, Clippers, and Nuggets. It’s pretty fair to say the Heat will be better than these teams.

It’s always tough to rank all 30 NBA teams before the season even starts. While no one will ever agree with every ranking made, it’s always fun to read them and debate.

CBS Sports put the Miami Heat in a decent spot on their list. With that being said, hopefully, the Heat are able to outperform their ranking.
