The Miami Heat officially re-signed Udonis Haslem for a 19th NBA season. With the addition, they now have 14 total players on their roster for this year.

While they don’t have to fill the 15th and last available spot, they still have the option to. Since Victor Oladipo will be out for a while, it might be in their best interest to do so.

There are a variety of different options they could go with when filling the spot. They could sign a veteran, a player from their Summer League team, or find another unsigned player they really like.

With Summer League coming to a close, who will the Miami Heat end up choosing? Who will fill the final spot on the roster this year?

Who will fill the final Miami Heat roster spot?: DeJon Jarreau

DeJon Jarreau has been a standout player in Summer League so far for the Miami Heat. He’s a combo guard who brings a little bit of everything to the table.

The 6-5 guard officially joined the team a bit late, but ever since he did he has been making an impact. Jarreau never fails to fill up the stat sheet when he enters the game.

In their last game vs the Atlanta Hawks, Jarreau put up 14 points, eight rebounds, nine assists, and three steals. He shot 4-6 from the field and 2-2 from three-point range.

On top of his offensive versatility, he’s also a great defender. His scrappy, gritty style of play fits in perfectly with the brand of basketball the Miami Heat play.

It may be more likely that Miami gives Jarreau a two-way spot, but he’s definitely good enough to earn a guaranteed contract. It all comes down to which option the Miami Heat prefer.
