Ranking NBA offseasons to see where the Miami Heat land
28. Portland Trailblazers
The Trailblazers dealt with a ton of trade rumors this offseason but ultimately ended up keeping Damian Lillard. However, they didn’t do much to improve the team.
They kept the same core when they re-signed Norman Powell, but they also lost Enes Kanter. The small moves they made won’t put them over the top, and in turn, probably won’t make Lillard too happy.
27. San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs are one of the few teams who are seemingly okay with just being mediocre nowadays. They signed a few mid-tier free agents, but none put them anywhere close to contention.
Zach Collins and Doug McDermott are decent players, but the Spurs are headed towards what could be their worst season in a long time. They also seemingly reached on Joshua Primo in the draft, so it just wasn’t a great summer for San Antonio.
26. Golden State Warriors
Getting Klay Thompson back will be huge for the Warriors, but they didn’t do much to change their roster. In fact, they actually failed to make a significant move when they had the chance.
Instead of trading their two lottery picks, they added two young players to a roster that will look to win right now. Jonathan Kuminga looks like a stud, but they made a big mistake by not trading the picks.
25. Minnesota Timberwolves
The Timberwolves didn’t have a first-round pick in the draft this year, so their offseason was immediately a rough one. They didn’t make any significant moves to make them better and adding Taurean Prince will only get them so far.
The addition of Patrick Beverley is actually pretty smart, but it cost them their power forward. It was just a fairly uneventful summer for the Wolves.
