Ranking NBA offseasons to see where the Miami Heat land

24. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers had an odd offseason. They drafted Evan Mobley with the third overall pick and were also able to extend Jarrett Allen to a massive extension.

However, they also have had some ups and downs regarding Collin Sexton. Based on all the rumors surrounding his status with the team, the Cavs aren’t exactly in a great place.

23. Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks made some pretty good moves this summer. They got back Bobby Portis, and also brought in Grayson Allen and Rodney Hood.

However, they fumbled the bag when they let PJ Tucker walk, and also failed to re-sign Bryn Forbes. It was just a very underwhelming offseason for the Bucks, who are coming off of a championship run.

22. Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder had a relatively boring offseason, but they did make a couple of solid moves. They took Josh Giddy sixth overall, which may have been a bit of a reach, but they also managed to get off of Al Horford’s contract.

Buying out Kemba Walker’s deal probably cost them a pretty penny, but re-signing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was a huge win. All of their moves cancel each other out to some degree.

21. Washington Wizards

The Wizards had a very weird offseason because they traded their second-best player, but they also added some really good depth. Even though Russell Westbrook is an elite player, getting off of his contract could also be seen as a win.

Getting the haul they received from the Lakers for depth purposes, in addition to Spencer Dinwiddie and Aaron Holiday, should make them a playoff contender. It was a pretty weird summer for Washington.
