Ranking NBA offseasons to see where the Miami Heat land

4. Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets made a ton of great moves this offseason, including drafting three stud rookies. They picked up James Bouknight, Kai Jones, JT Thor, and Scottie Lewis on draft night.

They were also able to pick up Mason Plumlee via trade, while also moving up in the draft to pick Thor. Swooping in to sign Kelly Oubre Jr. on a multi-year deal finished off a near-perfect summer for Charlotte.

3. Chicago Bulls

The Bulls were able to pick up Lonzo Ball, Demar DeRozan, and Alex Caruso this offseason. They were also able to get Ayo Dosunmu in the second round of the draft, which is great value.

A core of Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, Ball, and DeRozan should be able to lead them to the postseason. Chicago should end up back in the playoffs this year, and their successful offseason is the reason why.

2. Miami Heat

This is where the Miami Heat sit in the rankings, as they were able to sign an All-Star in Kyle Lowry, while also bringing in two solid veterans in PJ Tucker and Markieff Morris. These moves should immediately catapult them into title contention.

Miami also re-signed Duncan Robinson, Victor Oladipo, Dewayne Dedmon, Max Strus, and Gabe Vincent. Signing Omer Yurtseven to a two-year deal capped off what was an amazing offseason for Pat Riley and the Miami Heat.

1. Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers won this offseason by adding Russell Westbrook and still managing to put together a great roster. They picked up a whole slew of veterans and still managed to sign Kendrick Nunn and Malik Monk.

Los Angeles has one of the best big threes in the NBA and still has a ton of great depth. LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Westbrook might just be able to lead LA to another title.
