The Miami Heat have a lot of new faces on their roster. Pat Riley made a ton of moves this offseason and changed up the way the team looks.

With those moves, there are going to be some battles for minutes. Some players are going to try to earn more playing time, and with that, others will lose playing time.

These battles are going to be super interesting to watch as the season unfolds. Erik Spoelstra is going to have some tough decisions to make in regard to who plays and who doesn’t.

Which players are going to have to prove their worth this season? Which players are going to be fighting others for minutes?

Miami Heat positional battles: PJ Tucker vs Tyler Herro

While this may not technically seem like a positional battle, the position they are fighting for is a spot in the starting lineup. Both have the talent to start, but based on the indications, only one will.

Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo should all be locked in as starters. That just leaves one spot left in the starting five.

Tucker would be able to start at the four and space the floor for Adebayo and the other starters. His elite defense would also be a great help in taking some of the pressure off of Butler and Adebayo.

Meanwhile, Herro would add some extra shot creation into the starting lineup. He’s a dynamic scorer that can score from all areas of the floor.

It will be interesting to see who Spoelstra chooses to roll with. It could end up depending on who is playing better basketball at the time.
