The Miami Heat are a team that likes tough guys. They are a team built on hard work, effort, and all the other cliche-type things out there.

What they won’t stand for though, apparently, is hatred and/or bigotry. That’s the very situation that Meyers Leonard found himself during the middle of last season, letting his words get him trouble.

In case you don’t remember, the live-stream video game event, but that’s as far as we go there. With that part not being as important right now, the part that is important is what he’s done since.

The Miami Heat had to trade Meyers Leonard last season after his actions. However and now, he appears to be doing the right kinds of work on himself.

Needing time, work, effort, patience, and now, understanding from the other side of the equation to resurrect his image, life, and career, Leonard appears to be doing the work. Here is what we mean, per his own Instagram account.

While some might say it’s just a photo op, it could be and you could be right, however, it must also be admitted that it’s believable. The work and efforts that Meyers Leonard appear to be putting in here is of the believable nature.

He’ll always be side-eyed in certain scenarios, because you know that thing has been in him and has seen itself come out, however, you have to take this at face value. It’s not just about him here though.

When you see the content that he recently revealed, the above slotted, you also see others that are part of the communities that he’s offended with his actions and more specifically, his words. Aside from him seeming happy to have the opportunity to be better, the people that are in the photos with him have embraced him and that thing that he is working on.

You can see the genuine excitement, friendliness, pleasure, and acceptance in their faces. Now, again, one set of photos and experiences does not make a life full of good deeds, without hatred or bigotry, nor a perfect person.

What this does display though is a man and a person that, seemingly, made a horrible mistake based on his own ignorance. An ignorance that he now, genuinely and wholeheartedly, seems to be working on to be a better man and person.

That’s worth a look. Keep doing the work.
