Who will lead the Miami Heat in the five main statistical categories?

Assists per game: Kyle Lowry

Jimmy Butler has been the best playmaker on the Miami Heat for the past two seasons. While he still is an elite playmaker, Kyle Lowry may hold that title now.

Lowry has been one of the best passers in the league for most of the last decade. His passing should help transform Miami’s offense this season.

Outside of the 2019 Championship team, Lowry may have more weapons to work with than ever before, this year. He has two All-Star caliber players next to him, as well as multiple great shooters.

He should match, or at least get close to, his career-high total in assists per game this season. That would mean he would average around nine per game, which would most certainly lead the team.

Points per game: Bam Adebayo

This would be the third category Bam Adebayo would lead in, but he’s just that good of a player. Adebayo is set up to have the best season of his career this year.

It’s weird to see Jimmy Butler not lead the team in points, rebounds, or assists, but that would be very much like him. He does whatever it takes to win and doesn’t care about stats at all.

With Lowry and Butler alongside him, Adebayo should get more easy looks than ever before. Those two are going to be setting him up every other possession.

Adebayo could legitimately get close to averaging 25 points per game this season. The Miami Heat need a go-to scorer, and Adebayo could be that guy.
