With all the moves the Miami Heat made this offseason, it’s pretty hard to gauge how good they’ll be this year. The common consensus is that they’ll be better than last year, but that’s not too tall a task.
The Heat struggled with injuries and COVID last season. Saying that they will be a better team than last year is a pretty low bar to set for a team with clear championship aspirations.
On top of that, a lot of other teams around the league made massive roster moves, too. The whole league is striving to make the playoffs, it seems.
That being said, not every team can be a top seed in their conference. Some teams are likely going to underperform expectations, leaving their fanbase upset.
Which teams will the Miami Heat be able to outdo this year? Which teams that are expected to do well will the Miami Heat be better than this season?
Teams the Miami Heat will be better than: Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics reshaped their roster this summer, and it honestly might be better than last season’s squad. However, they don’t have the pieces to compete with the Miami Heat.
Jayson Tatum is a top-15 player in the NBA, but he can’t do it all himself. Even with Jaylen Brown by his side the Miami Heat still have a better roster.
Miami has a clear identity to their squad – defense. Meanwhile, the Celtics don’t really have one area of the game that they can consistently rely upon.
Boston will definitely be a playoff team this year, but they’ll probably be looking at a four, five, or six seed. As for Miami, they could be a top-three team in the East.
