Teams the Miami Heat will be better than: Utah Jazz

This may seem like high praise considering the Utah Jazz were the best team in the NBA last year. However, that success may not be sustainable for Utah.

They added two great pieces in Rudy Gay and Eric Pascall, but that sort of success is hard to replicate. On top of that, Utah struggled in Round 2 of the playoffs when Rudy Gobert got essentially played off the floor.

Utah has a really solid roster led by one of the best young players in the league in Donovan Mitchell. It just feels like last year was the year they had to get things done, and they didn’t.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat added an All-Star caliber player to their roster. Kyle Lowry is going to elevate the Heat on both sides of the floor.

They are set up to be one of, if not the best defensive team in the NBA. Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, PJ Tucker, and Lowry are four, top-tier defenders.

The Jazz are great on both ends of the floor, but they depend on their three-point shooting almost too much. It worked for them last season, but can they keep up that same pace this season?

Relying so heavily on the three-point shot is a very dangerous game. The likely scenario is that the Jazz are unable to replicate the immense success they had using this method last year.

Miami reshaped their roster and is looking to make a title push. They’ll be a better team than the Jazz this year during both the regular season and the playoffs.
