Teams the Miami Heat will be better than: Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers were the best team in the East last year, but it’s highly unlikely they match that success this season. To be quite honest, the 76ers seem like an absolute mess right now.

This whole Ben Simmons situation has gotten way out of hand. Reports are saying that he isn’t even returning Joel Embiid’s phone calls anymore.

Philadelphia should have traded him on draft night when they had the chance. There were supposedly a ton of teams interested in dealing for him.

However, based on reports, Daryl Morey’s asking price for Simmons is astronomical. It’s similar to what the Rockets wanted for James Harden, and Simmons is very clearly not the player Harden is.

Tobias Harris is a solid player, but he and Joel Embiid are the only two All-Star caliber players on their roster. The only two All-Star caliber players that actually want to be there, that is.

Past that, the 76ers didn’t have a very good offseason. Signing Georges Niang was actually a fantastic move, but it’s not one that will make them title contenders.

The Andre Drummond signing was absolutely terrible. He and Embiid don’t have a great track record, and he’ll end up being nothing more than a Dwight Howard replacement.

Miami actually improved this season, but the 76ers got worse. The Miami Heat will be a better team than the Philadelphia 76ers this year.
