Miami Heat: 3 Conditions To Secure NBA Playoff Home-Court Advantage – Good Road Trips & Even Tough Games
The Miami Heat won’t only have the opposition to contend with, but they’ll have the fatigue of several long road trips as well. That’s the first thing.
Be Good On Road Trips
With more than a couple of long road trips before them, including a seven game span to close December and open the new year, the Miami Heat will have to be good on the road to make sure they secure home-court come playoff time. With such depth in their time on the road on the occassions that they do go out, they stand a chance at falling victim to those road games.
They can’t lose focus there. In order to accompish the ultimate goal, as many postseaon games in Miami as possible, they’ll have to be, at least, good on all of those road trips.
That means that they can do, almost, anything besides stink the joint up.
Play Contenders Tough
While they’ll face the Milwaukee Bucks a ton early on, though not until December on national television, they’ll face a ton of other potential contenders throughout the season, but of course. For example, there is this one stretch to open March that sees them play Milwaukee on one night, Brooklyn the next, and Philadelphia with only a day betwixt that game and the back to back bloodbath.
To make matters worse, they face the reigning Western Conference champs, the Phoenix Suns, just a few days after that Philly game. They’ll have to win, at least, half of their games like those, as that’s what it will take to secure home-court.
