Miami Heat players who could disappoint this season: Bam Adebayo

Don’t get it twisted, Bam Adebayo will almost certainly be an All-Star this season. However, based on some of the recent expectations floating around, he might end up disappointing some fans.

Some fans are expecting Adebayo to average 25+ points per game and be in MVP conversations. They want to see the big man average 25/10/5 on elite shooting splits.

While Adebayo may be capable of doing this, don’t be surprised if he takes a backseat role once again. With Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry around, the scoring might be pretty spread out.

All three of them could average around 18 points per game and the team would still be elite. It doesn’t always have to be one person taking the majority of the shots.

Adebayo has all the tools around him to have a career year this season. However, it may be a bit unfair to pin such high expectations on the young center.

He’s never been the type of player to take a ton of shots, so expecting him to do so out of nowhere could come back to bite some fans. He might just continue to defer shots to Butler and company.

The young center is one of the best in the league, but he might not end up having the season some players are projecting him to. It’s all going to depend on what mindset Adebayo has going into the season, and what direction Erik Spoelstra wants to take the offense.
