Former Miami Heat players who would fit well on the roster: Goran Dragic

This one stings a bit more than the rest. It’s weird to call Goran Dragic a “former Heat player,” but that’s just the harsh reality of the current situation.

Dragic gave it all during his time in Miami, helping lead them to the 2020 Finals and even making his first, and only, All-Star appearance during his time in South Beach.

He would be the perfect fit on this current roster as the backup point guard behind Kyle Lowry. Dragic has always thrived as the sixth man, and nothing would be different this year.

The dragon would provide an elite scoring punch off the bench. Miami already has some decent depth, but having Dragic’s skillset would only bolster that.

As of now, the Heat plan on making Gabe Vincent the backup point guard. While Vincent could end up being great, Dragic would be a far better option.

Having Dragic as the sixth man would really complete Miami’s championship-caliber roster. Tyler Herro is their current sixth man, but having Dragic and Herro would be even better.

It stinks that Dragic had to be a casualty of the Lowry signing, but it was a necessary evil. That being said, maybe he’ll be open to re-joining the Miami Heat at some point in the future.
