Miami Heat players who could have a breakout season: Duncan Robinson

Duncan Robinson just inked a five-year, $90 million extension to stay with the Miami Heat. With this, he could be primed to have the best season of his career.

There may be a ton of new talent in Miami, but Robinson could still be a top scorer on the team. His elite three-point shooting puts him in a unique position to help the team.

Having Kyle Lowry and PJ Tucker around will only make his life easier. Now, defenses won’t be able to only focus on Robinson on the perimeter.

With opposing defenses having to focus on multiple three-point threats, Robinson should get more open looks than ever. More easy looks mean more points on the board.

Realistically, there is no go-to scorer on the Heat this season. Lowry, Butler, and Adebayo can play that role, but none need to in order to play their best.

If Robinson can develop as a scorer, even more, he has a chance to lead the team in scoring. He may not be the most likely candidate to do so, but it’s certainly a possibility.

He said on a recent episode of his podcast, The Long Shot, that he is working on developing two things this offseason – his body and a go-to two-point shot.

Hopefully, this work shows in the coming season. Robinson could have the best season of his career with the tools Miami has put around him.
