As the release of the game inches closer, more and more NBA 2K22 ratings are being dropped. Well, one Miami Heat player, in particular, is not too happy with the rating he received.

Duncan Robinson just recently reacted to his NBA 2K22 rating on an episode of his podcast, The Long Shot podcast. His co-host, Davis Reid, informed him of two of his ratings that have been released.

Miami Heat sharpshooter Duncan Robinson was not happy with his NBA 2K22 player rating

First, it was put out that he was a 90 overall three-point shooter, which is tied for third in the entire game. He is tied with Seth Curry and Joe Harris for that spot, with only Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson being ahead of them.

Robinson first reacted to this rating and did not seem too discouraged. He noted that it’s a major upgrade from his rating when he entered the league as a rookie.

"“I think that’s reasonable. I think that it’s growth, if you will, from Ronnie 2K. I mean, mind you, I was the worst player in the game, the entire game, my first year. I believe I was a 67 overall and the next closest was a 69. So it wasn’t even like I was a point off.”"

After going undrafted, no one knew what Robinson would become. Clearly, the ratings team over at 2K had no idea.

Having a 90-overall three-point shot seems a bit low considering how well he has shot the ball. However, considering the only two players better than him are Curry and Thompson, it’s hard to complain too much.

However, once Robinson heard what his overall was, the mood shifted a bit. Reid found Robinson’s rating on a 2K site, and when he told him, Robinson seemed a bit taken aback.

The rating he supposedly received was a 77 overall. From the sounds of things, Robinson believed he was a 78, so when he heard this news he was not too happy.

"“So a 77 seems a touch low. Honestly, I would love 79. I think that that’s pretty fair. If I have a good start to the year maybe bump me to 80. You know, I’m a stone’s throw from 80.”"

When predicting the entire Miami Heat roster’s NBA 2K22 rating, the belief was that Robinson should be an 80. He plays such an important role on the Heat and his rating should reflect that.

His three-point shooting is essential to the offensive game plan of the Miami Heat. Without him, they would have been a bottom-three team in terms of three-point percentage last year.

Hopefully, Robinson plays well enough to the point where NBA 2K bumps his rating up. As of now, though, it seems like they are severely underrating him.
