The Miami Heat are a fairly popular basketball team in the grand scheme of things. They may not be the Lakers or have Drake as a superfan like the Raptors, but they still have some popular connections.

Well, Victor Oladipo has been showing off one of the friends he has made since being in the league. The funniest part is, his friend is far more famous than he is.

In the past few days, Oladipo has taken to Instagram and Twitter to show off his friendship with Kanye West. The Chicago rapper has been making headlines in recent days in regard to his upcoming album.

Did Miami Heat guard Victor Oladipo know something about Kanye West’s new album DONDA before it was released?

West’s album, DONDA, was supposed to be released a long time ago. However, the delay of the release has caused some fans to become upset very quickly.

Fear not though, because Oladipo made sure to share some good, somewhat cryptic news in relation to West. From the implications he made, he knew that West’s album would be coming out very soon.

Based on the Tweet pictured above, Oladipo knew something that the general public did not. The most likely scenario is that he knew when West was planning to drop his album.

Oladipo paired his Tweet with a post on Instagram with the title of West’s newest album being used as the caption. The image shows him and West on an airstrip, with West wearing what appears to be a ski mask.

It is entirely possible that Oladipo is just trolling fans by putting out the Tweet, but it’s impossible to tell. Maybe he really did know something that no one else did.

Regardless, it’s nice to see Oladipo enjoying his offseason before a season filled with hard work. The 29-year-old wing will spend the bulk of this year rehabbing a quad injury.

He only ended up playing four games with the Miami Heat last season after they traded for him at the deadline. It was an unfortunate end to a very short-lived stint with Miami.

However, Oladipo re-signed with the Heat this offseason on a one-year deal. The likely plan is that he will re-up his value and re-enter free agency next offseason.

Ideally, Oladipo could return as soon as November of this year. Luckily, DONDA came out before that, as it was released on all platforms this morning.

So, next time Kanye West decides to drop a project, Oladipo might just be the guy to turn to. It’s clear that he knew something when no one else did.
