Miami Heat: Dewayne Dedmon Can Hit The Shots… If He Gets Them

He only played in 16 games with Miami last season, not really having a chance to get deep enough into the offense to explore that part of his game with them, indicative by the .3 per game attempted. He split the season prior between Atlanta and Sacramento, meaning a change in offense and also coming along with multiple changes in philosophies but also, perhaps it was just an off year?

In the years where he has had the attempts, the overwhelming majority of the results are successes. You also have to consider that it would allow the Heat more spacing, at times, if he shot it a few times per game from range.

It also plays well off some of the other guys on the roster, such as Bam Adebayo, who gets more effective as an offensive player with closer proximity to the rim right now. This would allow him and Dedmon to equally contribute and interchange if playing together.

That’s the last part. It allows the Heat to have a ton of versatility in different situations, be that for foul trouble, needing to size up or down to match up, or any other scenario that one could think of.

It’s really a win-win scenario and especially considering that they had Kelly Olynyk and Meyers Leonard, as seven-footers, shooting the shot as well. Thats why this is Dewayne Dedmon’s bold prediction for the coming year, he just has to get the attempts.
