Miami Heat: Will The Free Throw Attempts Be At An All-Time High?

Butler, who finished eighth among all players in total free-throw makes, uses his 6’7” and 230-pound frame to effectively control his body and find continuation on shots. The knack of initiating contact has been effective throughout his ten-year career, but it was truly exemplified at the NBA’s highest stage.

For Adebayo (354 attempts, fourth among centers), who gets absolutely hammered as much as any center in the league, he uses a lengthy wingspan and tremendous leaping ability to finish over defenders.

Over the years, he’s added to his arsenal, the ability to drive past defenders off a quick-turn but it all comes back to being aggressive, as his attempts at the charity stripe will only see an inflation.

  • Butler and Adebayo each finished in the top-15 in Personal Fouls Drawn, the only pair of Heat teammates since Dwyane Wade and LeBron James in 2012-13.

Adding free-agent guard, Kyle Lowry, will not only compliment Miami’s rough-style of play, but he’ll enhance it. A short, but stocky player who can get calls when meeting larger players inside, Lowry epitomizes those abilities as well.
