As the season inches closer, the Miami Heat have their entire roster all but set. They have to fill out their two-way spots, and still have a 15th roster spot, but all their important pieces are in place.
They brought in two starters in Kyle Lowry and PJ Tucker this summer who should drastically improve the team’s ceiling. In addition, Miami re-signed several key players from last year’s team.
However, most teams that are fighting for a championship choose to improve their team throughout the season. Whether this is through the buyout market or treads, it is a common occurrence.
If Miami decides to make a trade, that means someone would have to be on the way out. Which players on the Heat are most likely to not be on the roster by the time the season is over?
Players who might not finish the season with the Miami Heat: Gabe Vincent
According to recent reports, the Miami Heat plan on making Gabe Vincent the backup point guard this season. A decision like this could make or break his place on the team.
If he plays well, then he will have solidified himself as a quality NBA point guard. However, the exact opposite will happen if Vincent struggles.
If Vincent doesn’t meet Miami’s expectations, they might choose to trade or waive him in favor of bringing in a veteran backup point guard. They are trying to compete right now, and need a dependable player at that position.
Everyone wants to see Vincent succeed, but he hasn’t been super consistent in the NBA so far. Hopefully, he breaks that streak this season and ends up meeting all the expectations being placed on him.
