Miami Heat point guard depth chart: Starter – Kyle Lowry

As mentioned, this one is a fairly obvious conclusion. The Miami Heat aren’t paying Kyle Lowry just under $30 million to come off of the bench for them.

Lowry is a six-time All-Star and has earned that recognition in six of the last seven seasons. The only year where he failed to make the All-Star game was last year.

There’s no reason that he can’t get back to playing at an All-Star level this season. Realistically, he was playing at an All-Star level last season, but the Raptors weren’t good enough for him to earn enough votes.

Not only will Lowry be the starter, but he’ll play a crucial role for the Heat this season. He’s the third-best player on the team and will be an important on-court leader for them.

Miami Heat point guard depth chart: Backup – Gabe Vincent

The Miami Heat are reportedly planning on making Gabe Vincent the full-time backup point guard this season. He says he is ready to take on the responsibilities that come with that role.

Vincent has struggled to put up consistent numbers at the NBA level yet. However, he played super well with Team Nigeria at the Olympics this summer.

His time with Team Nigeria was obviously highlighted by a massive exhibition game win over Team USA. He scored 21 points and nailed six three-pointers in that game.

If Vincent can put up consistently efficient performances this season, he’ll be a fine backup point guard. However, he will certainly be held to a very high standard.
