Miami Heat: Duncan Robinson Does Gain The Most And It’s Crucial For Them

Though there is always five for each team on the floor, the Miami Heat’s ineptitude, at times, last season allowed defenses to be able to guard more with less. They could sag or fade off a guy, because he wasn’t going to kill them, basically.

Kyle Lowry makes it so that no one can do that. That should free Duncan up from some of the attention, both physical and raw, in the form of being watched by every opposing defender.

There is also this more schematically literal way. Duncan does a lot of his stuff off the dribble-handoff and that’ll still be a huge part of what they do. What he hasn’t gotten a ton of great looks off, the classic look, is the kick-out off the drive.

While multiple players have been capable in the past, only Jimmy did it with regularity and he didn’t even do it a ton. Kyle Lowry should bring a nice dose of that.

Not only does it enhance the way he’s typically went about getting it done, but it helps Duncan to diversify his game. Listen and don’t be confused, Kyle Lowry helps everyone, from the players to the coaches drawing up the plays.

It’s just that in Duncan’s case, where he does the same thing constantly to find his looks, Lowry can have a greater and multi-faceted impact. Let’s hope that’s the case, because the sky is the limit with this group.
