The Miami Heat have a fairly deep rotation this year at most positions. At point guard, they should end up having four solid guys who can play that position.

When taking a look at Miami’s potential depth chart this season, it’s important to also consider that some players play multiple positions. Tyler Herro can simultaneously be the third-string point guard and a shooting guard.

This allows Erik Spoelstra the flexibility to play a huge variety of rotations. Based on the current situation of the game, he can play whoever he may need to.

The same can be said about every position on the roster. However, this is focused on the aforementioned position – shooting guard.

As the game of basketball becomes more and more positionless, it’s hard to define who plays what position. There are a ton of different varieties of shooting guards.

There are players such as James Harden who handles the ball a lot, and there are others such as Klay Thompson who play primarily off the ball. Well, Miami has a solid mix of both of those things.

The hardest part of it all will be deciding who plays when. That’s not a bad problem to have, though, as more talent is always better than less talent, obviously.

Due to this variety of players, Spoelstra will be able to mix and match who he wants to play when. The question is, which players will end up playing more minutes than others?

What will the shooting guard depth chart look like for the Miami Heat this season? Who will start, who will be the backup, and who will fill out the spots past that?
