As the season draws near, it is no secret that the Miami Heat will have championship aspirations. They made the necessary moves to put them in the position to compete for a title.

With those high hopes comes the innate need to constantly improve. Their team is great right now, but there is always room to get better for every team.

The most popular ways teams improve throughout the season are by utilizing the buyout market and making trades. While the Heat may sign a player on the buyout market, they will likely look at potential trades, too.

Though some players could end up helping the team, there are others that could do the exact opposite. Which potentially available players should the Miami Heat avoid at all costs?

NBA trade targets the Miami Heat should avoid: Myles Turner

In theory, the idea of Myles Turner sounds great. He could help space the floor for the rest of the team without losing anything on the defensive end.

However, the Miami Heat already have two solid backup centers on the roster. If Turner were to come to South Beach, it would cost Omer Yurtseven valuable playing time.

In addition, the cost of trading for Turner is probably too much for the Heat. Indiana would likely want a solid player and a couple of picks, neither of which the Heat have to give them.

For what they would be getting in return, it just doesn’t make sense for the Heat to make a trade for Turner. They should definitely look to avoid him if he becomes available.
