The Miami Heat are almost a month away from tip-off, like the rest of the league. With the season nearing and the offseason all but done, it’s time to start diving into the real stuff to see what can be chomped on.

That means actually talking about the games. With that, it takes you back to the schedule.

Being released some time ago, everyone should have had time to really give it a solid look-over and to draw analysis by this point. What are some of the main takeaways?

Well, there could be a few. However, you need not look past the first week before a main conclusion can be drawn and early.

The Miami Heat have an opportunity to do something special this season. They will see how far they are early this season though, opening with heavy weights.

When you look at the Miami Heat’s first full week of games, it’s nothing pretty. It’s actually par for the course with the Miami Heat, always wanting to take the route that requires the most work, but it isn’t anything to be envied by other teams.

Their opening night contest is against the reigning champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, to which they then follow up with a tough contest against the Pacers in Indy. Indiana doesn’t appear to be anything special at the moment, however, teams that play hard, physical, disciplined, and with effort will always give the Heat issues.

After Indiana, they then welcome the Orlando Magic into Miami. While that isn’t anything to be scared of, the Magic always play the Heat tough and the whole in-state rivalry of it all adds extra juice for the lesser-team in the scenario… always.

Lastly and the cherry on top of a tougher opening week, is a meeting with the Brooklyn Nets and in Brooklyn, for that matter. While the Miami Heat are literally built, this season, to withstand this type of pressure and competition, that’s a tough task for anybody.

It’ll give them a a chance to set a baseline, one way or another. They’ll either know how far along they are or how far they need to go.

Either way, they’ll know a lot more about themselves after just that first week.
