The Miami Heat have a great roster full of young players, veterans, and role players alike. With the signings they made this offseason, it is clear that they intend on making a run at a title this season.

In years past, contending teams are very active in the trade market around the deadline. Despite lacking any real trade assets, the Heat will likely still be involved in this scene.

There are a few different teams around the league that could be selling at the trade deadline. While some of these options have been explored, which ones have not?

What are some unexpected trades the Miami Heat could pull off at the trade deadline? How much could they look to shake things up?

Unexpected trades the Miami Heat could make: Joe Ingles

Earlier this offseason, it was rumored that the Utah Jazz could be looking to trade Joe Ingles. If that is so, the Miami Heat should definitely look into acquiring him.

Ingles is a solid scorer, a great three-point shooter, an above-average defender, and an amazing playmaker for his position. He would be the perfect player to run the power forward for Miami.

As great as PJ Tucker is, having Ingles in the rotation would give the Heat some more options on offense. As for Morris and Okpala, they would simply be pot sweeteners.

This deal sees the Jazz get a power forward who is under contract so they don’t have to pay him, while Miami gets an upgrade at the four. It is a win-win trade for both sides.
