Unexpected trades the Miami Heat could make: Maxi Kleber and Trey Burke

Not all “unexpected” trades have to be super high-profile. In this trade, the Miami Heat get back a couple of players who could help them at positions of need.

Considering they just signed PJ Tucker, trading him seems a bit weird. However, if they can get this package in return, they should certainly look into it.

Maxi Kleber is a super tall power forward who can space the floor and defend the paint. He’s not the perimeter defender that Tucker is, but he’s a lot younger and could be a solid fit.

As for Trey Burke, he could come in and provide a punch of offense off the bench. As of now, Miami doesn’t really have a certified “bucket-getter,” and Burke is exactly that.

The Mavericks could look to do this trade because Tucker brings some much-needed defensive intensity to their lineup. Dallas isn’t exactly a defensive powerhouse at this point.

If they want to help Luka Doncic succeed, putting 3&D players around him is the key. There are few better than Tucker in that department.

The Mavs would also get KZ Okpala and Max Strus in this deal. Both have some potential, but neither has proven that they can succeed at the NBA level quite yet.

Miami Heat fans may scoff at this deal, but it could actually help improve depth. It also opens up an extra roster spot for if Miami wants to be extra active on the buyout market.
