Unexpected trades the Miami Heat could make: Zach LaVine

Is this trade very realistic? No. Would it be unexpected? Yes.

While the last trade would help Miami improve their depth, this one would hurt it. However, it would hurt their depth at the expense of getting an All-Star.

Chicago made a ton of offseason moves this summer with the goal of making the playoffs. If they don’t perform early on, though, they could look to make changes.

Instead of having to pay Zach LaVine, they could consider trading him at the deadline. This is where the Miami Heat could pounce and add a third All-Star to their already elite starting five.

LaVine would be the scorer that this Heat team is missing. He would be the last piece of the puzzle and his one and only job would be to get buckets.

As of now, there’s no clear, go-to scorer on the Miami Heat. If they traded for LaVine, he would become that guy, and he would absolutely excel in that role.

Trading for someone like LaVine comes at a high price, though. The Miami Heat would likely have to give up both Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro.

Is that deal worth it? Possibly, but it’s one that the Heat would likely hesitate to do. However, if they are getting back a young All-Star, why not pull the trigger?
