Ranking NBA starting point guards to see where the Miami Heat land

18. Lonzo Ball, Chicago Bulls

Lonzo Ball will have the chance at a fresh start in Chicago this season. He will be hoping to help lead the Bulls to their first playoff berth in many years.

17. Malcolm Brogdon, Indiana Pacers

The Pacers are always a team that gets close to making the playoffs, and having players like Malcolm Brogdon helps that. He’s just a solid, all-around point guard and one of the most efficient scorers in the game.

16. Fred VanVleet, Toronto Raptors

With Kyle Lowry gone, Fred VanVleet will finally get his chance to be the starting point guard. If he can lead the Raptors to a playoff spot, he could legitimately get some All-Star consideration.

15. Mike Conley, Utah Jazz

Mike Conley has slowly become one of the more underrated point guards in the NBA. His defensive prowess and offensive efficiency make him a great starter for the Jazz.

14. LaMelo Ball, Charlotte Hornets

In only his second season, LaMelo Ball is already in the top half of all starting point guards. He has some of the best vision in the league and is constantly improving.

13. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder just gave Shai Gilgeous-Alexander a massive payday this summer. He’s the best player on a young Oklahoma City team and will look to earn his first All-Star game nod this year.

12. Ja Morant, Memphis Grizzlies

Ja Morant managed to lead the Grizzlies to the playoff last season against all odds. He’s a borderline top-ten point guard and has a good chance of being an All-Star this season.

11. Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers

Despite all the current problems, Ben Simmons is still an amazing point guard. No matter where he ends up, he’ll be a Defensive Player of the Year candidate and an elite playmaker.
