Re-drafting the 2020 NBA Draft: 11. Deni Avdija, San Antonio Spurs

While Deni Avdija wouldn’t have cracked San Antonio’s 2020 starting lineup, he would likely start for them this year. Having Avdija fall this far would have been a blessing for the Spurs.

Despite his unfortunate injury, Avdija showed some real promise in Washington last year. He could end up being one of the better stretch fours in the league at his full potential.

The Spurs have a long history of taking foreign players in the draft. Due to that, this pick makes too much sense not to happen in this re-draft.

Avdija is from Israel and was absolutely killing it in the Israeli League before entering the NBA Draft. In fact, he was the younger played ever to win the Israeli Basketball Premier League MVP.

Having his shooting would be a massive boost for the Spurs, who were one of the worst three-point shooting teams in the league. Avdija only ends up falling a couple of spots in this re-draft.
