The fit of Aaron Nesmith on the Dallas Mavericks is absolutely perfect. While they originally selected Josh Green, adding Nesmith gives them two things they desperately need – three-point shooting and defense.

Nesmith got off to an extremely slow start in his rookie season, but by the end of the year, he was the first player off of Boston’s bench. He has the potential to be an elite 3&D player in the NBA.

As the Mavericks move into the future, their main goal should be to surround Luka Doncic with as much talent as possible. Nesmith is the perfect player to do that with.

Dallas has never been a great defensive team, so his hustle and solid defense would give them a huge boost. In addition, putting as many shooters around Doncic as possible should be a top priority as well.

Nesmith ends up falling a few spots in this re-draft, but he is still primed to have a great rest of his career.
