Re-drafting the 2020 NBA Draft: 27. Kira Lewis Jr, Utah Jazz

Original pick: Udoka Azubuike

The Utah Jazz originally selected Udoka Azubuike with this pick, and while he could still develop nicely, he didn’t play much for them in his rookie season. Instead, they take a guard in Kira Lewis Jr in this re-draft.

Lewis had a fairly quiet rookie season but actually put up some okay numbers in New Orleans. He played a little less than 17 minutes per game, but there is plenty of room to grow.

His biggest draw as a prospect is his insane speed. Going into the draft, teams took note of one thing in particular when it came to Lewis – he was the fastest player in the draft by far.

That skill is still a very useful one to have, but he has to work on the other areas of his game if he wants to be successful. Hopefully, he is able to get some more playing time with the Pelicans this year.

In this fantasy world, the Jazz take him at 27th overall and use him as a backup for Mike Conley. Meanwhile, Lewis takes a major tumble, falling from pick 13 to pick 27.
