Realistic Miami Heat trades for the Big 3: Jimmy Butler
Once again, it is important to reiterate that the Miami Heat would never trade Jimmy Butler. He’s the face of the franchise and he will be in Miami until the day he retires.
That being said, this sort of deal is a return they could expect. They would get a ton of young players and picks in return for their superstar.
The Washington Wizards should be desperate to put as much talent around Bradley Beal as possible. If they managed to get Jimmy Butler, they would be a top-tier playoff team.
Putting a defensive-minded star like Butler next to Beal would be an ideal fit. The pairing would be absolutely elite and the Wizards could make a serious run in the playoffs.
However, they would have to sacrifice most of their depth in order to get the deal done. They would be sending out their entire young core, as well as a couple of solid rotational players.
The trade is centered around both Deni Avdija and Rui Hachimura, both of whom are up-and-coming young prospects. Miami would get to reset for the future and build an elite young core.
This deal would also help the Miami Heat re-up their draft stock. So, while they would never even consider trading Butler, this package is what they could expect to get in return.
