The Miami Heat should be one of the most fun teams to watch in the NBA this season. They made a ton of offseason moves and will be competitive night in and night out.

If you’re an NBA fan who loves to watch elite defensive teams who like to get chippy, Miami is the team to follow. They should draw the eyes of fans across the globe.

While their defense should be great, nothing is certain until it happens. The Miami Heat will have to go out and prove that they are an elite defensive team not only on paper but on the court.

That will be a major storyline to watch this year, but what are some other ones? What major storylines should fans be on the lookout for this season?

Major storylines to watch this Miami Heat season: Kyle Lowry’s age

When the Miami Heat signed Kyle Lowry to a three-year deal, they knew what they were getting into. At 35 years old, Lowry is definitely getting up there in age.

There’s a narrative in the NBA that point guards don’t often age well. We’ve seen players go against that grain, but it is a common theme throughout the league.

Lowry has shown no signs of slowing down thus far in his NBA career. Before last season, he had been named to six consecutive All-Star games and even won a championship just three seasons ago.

However, as Lowry enters his late-30s, it will be interesting to see how well he ages. That will certainly be a storyline to watch out for as the season progresses.
