Miami Heat team records that could be broken this season: Triple-doubles in a single season

While this may seem like an obscure record, it is one that could be easily broken this season. As of now, the current record for most triple-doubles in a season is four.

Ironically enough, Jimmy Butler set this record just last season. Getting four triple-doubles in a season doesn’t seem like an impossible task, though.

In fact, there could be multiple players on the roster this season who could break this record. In addition to Butler, Bam Adebayo has a chance to get a few triple-doubles this year.

This is not to say that it is easy to get a triple-double, just that the Miami Heat have some very talented players. Either one of them could get a few in a season.

Butler always manages to fill up the stat sheet, yet doesn’t need to do so in order for his impact to be felt. He’s always just everywhere on the court, so in turn, he racks up points, rebounds, and assists.

As for Adebayo, he could end up being a focal point of the offense this season. With Butler and Kyle Lowry acting as the primary facilitators, he could lead the team in a few statistical categories.

If Adebayo has a great passing night, a triple-double could simply fall into his lap. Having that happen five times would be a lot, but Adebayo is a very special player.

This record does not seem out of reach for the players on this current roster. Make sure to keep a running tally whenever someone records a triple-double.
