The Miami Heat did a great job this offseason of building a well-rounded team. They have great defenders, great shooters, great passers, and even a couple of superstars.

Everything they have done has put them in a position where they will be able to compete for a championship. However, their roster is technically not complete yet.

As of now, the Miami Heat have 14 players on the regular roster and two two-way players. This means they are still able to add one more player to the roster if they want to.

What are the three most likely options for the final roster spot this season? What will the Miami Heat choose to do with it?

Options for the final Miami Heat roster spot: Veteran forward

The Miami Heat don’t actually have a lot of depth at the forward position. Outside of PJ Tucker and Markieff Morris, they don’t have any real power forwards.

Signing a veteran forward could be a smart move. Players like Mike Scott or JaKarr Sampson could be good fits because they would be solid depth, but wouldn’t have to play many minutes.

Having an extra power forward on the roster would be very useful for the Heat. If one of Tucker or Morris gets hurt for some reason, they would have someone who could step in and play spot minutes.

Either Scott or Sampson would be a decent option to fill this spot. They may not be flashy names, but they would certainly get the job done.
