Re-drafting the 2020 NBA Draft: 9. Cam Reddish, Washington Wizards

With their original pick, Rui Hachimura, off the board, the Washington Wizards choose to select Cam Reddish with the ninth overall pick. Reddish showed some scary potential during Atlanta’s deep playoff run last season.

While there are some more established players left on the board (Keldon Johnson, PJ Washington, etc.), the Wizards instead choose to pick for potential. Out of all the players left on the board, Reddish might just take the cake in that category.

He could end up being an elite 3&D player, which is now becoming a trend in this draft class. Many were comparing him to Paul George during the Hawks’ playoff run, and it makes a ton of sense.

All Reddish has to do now is play like he did in the postseason on a consistent basis. If he can do that, he has All-Star potential in the NBA.

So, while Wizards fans are probably not too happy that they lost out on Hachimura, they still get a great consolation prize. Washington picks up Reddish with the ninth pick in this re-draft.
