Miami Heat Roundtable: Laying Out The Final Record Predictions – Will’s Take
The upcoming 2021-22 Miami Heat season looks to be promising and filled with a lot of expectations. They re-signed their key guys and managed to add new talent that will help maximize their true potential.
Wills Take (@crackseason)
The regular season is a good opportunity to see how these guys will match up with the other top teams and learn how to improve from their mistakes. That’s, especially, so they are ready to go for the playoffs.
It could be a rough start, as Jimmy Butler, who is one of the main ball handlers and creators, will now have to share the ball with Lowry. This isn’t an issue, as Butler always adapts, but rather something of a process.
They’ll have to get familiar with each other on both sides of the ball and it will definitely take some getting used to. Bam Adebayo will have high expectations to take another leap, so having to take that leap with a new ball handler will take some adjusting as well.
The whole offense could be renovated, for all we know and as of right now. Players will need to learn each other’s tendencies, but that shouldn’t be a problem either with this group.
Last year, the Heat finished with a record of 40-32. They struggled on both sides of the ball, at times, during the season.
It was an injury and Covid plagued season for them as well, which prevented them from maximizing on their consistency. That and this other thing, that is.
They were just… tired. They had no rest after the 2019-2020 season concluded and that definitely held them back.
Record Prediction: 54-28
This year, the 82 game season returns and the Heat have a revamped roster. It’ll take some time, but they’ll eventually mesh and win more ball games than they did last season, earning them a two or three seed in the East.
I think the roster has potential to beat the top teams in the NBA and take care of their business against everybody else. That means, to finally beat the lower level teams that they tend to play down to at times.
