The Miami Heat have a great core of players going into the 2021-22 NBA season. They made some great moves this summer to ensure that they will be able to compete for a title.

With the way the roster is built, it is clear to see that the identity of this team will be defense. Miami was already an elite defensive team last year, and they managed to get even better on that end of the floor.

However, the Miami Heat struggled on the offensive end of the floor last season. While Pat Riley made some moves to help fix that, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

With all that in mind, the Heat should be a top team in the Eastern Conference. Despite this, what are the biggest weaknesses on the roster going into this season?

Biggest weaknesses on the Miami Heat roster: Rebounding

Last season, the Miami Heat were the second-worst team in the NBA when it came to total rebounds per game (41.4). Unfortunately, they didn’t really make any major improvements to help fix that.

As amazing as Bam Adebayo is, he is a little bit undersized for a center. On top of that, his rebounding numbers took a slight dop last season.

Dewayne Dedmon and Omer Yurtseven might help a little bit, but overall the Heat might struggle to rebound the ball again this year. It will have to be done by committee if they want to improve in that department.

Hopefully, a lack of rebounders won’t hurt Miami too much this season. If they finish in the bottom five again, fans should not be too happy with those results.
