It seems like it has been forever, but Miami Heat basketball is finally almost back. Training camp is right around the corner, and after that, the season is only a couple of weeks away.

Miami has a new look going into this year, with Kyle Lowry running point. They managed to add PJ Tucker and Markieff Morris in free agency as well.

While it will be super fun to get updates on our favorite players, that’s not what training camp is about. The important thing to look for is all of the young players trying to earn their spot on the team.

So, with that in mind, what exactly should fans be watching out for? What things and/or players should fans be monitoring during training camp this year?

What to watch for during Miami Heat training camp: Max Strus consistency

Max Strus played super well in Summer League this offseason. However, up to this point in his NBA career, he has failed to be a consistent shooter from three-point range.

Training camp will be a great time for him to prove that he can continue to shoot well, but this time on the NBA roster. He signed a two-year deal this summer, and now he needs to prove that it was worth it.

The Miami Heat are going to need Strus to play some backup wing minutes this year. The best way for him to be effective on the court is if he is hitting his threes.

If Strus gets hot in training camp, that would show some progress towards becoming a truly consistent shooter. That’s what the Heat are going to need from him.
