The Miami Heat are gearing up to get the upcoming season underway. With the first preseason contests just a few days away, training camp is officially in motion.

With the actual basketball of it all on one side though, comes the hoopla of the interviews, quotes, and the medias first exposure to this season’s iteration of the team. In a conversation with Tobin & Leroy of 790 The Ticket Jimmy Butler had his part to contribute to shenanigans.

While he is always quite the quote machine, he was especially chatty on this occasion. In this instance, it started or revolved around Jimmy Butler‘s “belief” in “statement” or “revenge” games, eventually saying that he doesn’t.

That stands for either. The conversation eventually turned towards the 76ers and Jimmy’s desire to beat them.

The Miami Heat got great moments from the duo of Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic. With Dragic gone, Jimmy says he has a special way of showing his love.

On that, he says that “if anything, I just want to beat Joel. Cause I love him to death, so I want to beat him”.

Well, that all fine and dandy, but then the conversation turned to another of his former teammates. Jimmy then reveals how he plans to go about showing his former teammate, Goran Dragic, how much he adores him.

For his very close friend and former teammate, this is what Jimmy has planned. After the conversation about Joel Embiid, Tobin asks Butler a question and this is how it went.

"Tobin- “and now you have Goran between your crosshairs?”Jimmy- “Yes! I want to foul the s**t out of GoranLeroy- “Dunk On Him?”J- “Aww, Naw, I’m not going to dunk, but oh my gosh, you don’t get… yea, Flagrant 1?! I don’t get thrown out… Flagrant 1! You d**n right!"

Tobin went on to ask how he could do it and Jimmy said that he would simply tell him that he told “his a**” that he was going to get him.” It’s the Jimmy Butler answer if there ever was one.

Though the Miami Heat tip off their preseason on Monday the fourth of October against the Atlanta Hawks, just a few days away, they don’t face Goran and his new team, the Raptors, until Monday January the 17th in the regular season.

Either way it goes, it’ll be fireworks when they face off. If not on the boxscore and scoreboard, they’ll be between Jimmy Butler and his former teammate, at least.
