Ways Duncan Robinson can improve this season for the Miami Heat: Defense

This is easily the most obvious area in which Dunan Robinson needs to improve in. While he’s not necessarily a bad defender, he definitely has some work to do on that end.

During an episode of his podcast, The Long Shot, Robinson stated that he spent this summer working on his body. He said he wants to get stronger and faster.

In turn, he said this should help him on the defensive side of the floor. At 6-7, he actually has a pretty good frame to be a solid perimeter defender.

With the way Miami’s starting lineup is looking, Robinson is by far the weakest defender. He has Lowry, Butler, Tucker, and Adebayo surrounding him, so opposing offenses might try to take advantage of Robinson.

Now, there’s little to no chance that Robinson becomes an elite defender over the course of one offseason. However, all he has to do is become respectable on that end.

He should be working on moving his feet and getting stronger as he mentioned. This way, defenders won’t be able to bully him out on the perimeter.

As long as he is able to do this, offenses won’t be able to pick him apart. This should be the number one way Robinson looks to improve this season with the Miami Heat.
