Things the Miami Heat can learn from the past 5 NBA Champions: Golden State Warriors & Cleveland Cavaliers

Golden State Warriors – The regular season matters

Since the Warriors won the title for two years in a row, let’s take both of those years into account. Since they were do dominant in the regular season, they were able to get decent playoff matchups to make their life easier.

In each season, their hardest matchup came in the Conference Finals. They played Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs one year, and James Harden and the Rockets in the other.

If the Miami Heat are able to secure a top seed in the East this season, it will make their life significantly easier. It’s crucial to set yourself up with a great regular-season record.

Many people like to argue that basketball doesn’t matter until it’s playoff basketball. However, getting a top seed in the playoffs certainly helps with that.

Cleveland Cavaliers – Never give up

Is this saying extremely cliche? Absolutely. Is it also extremely true? 100% We’re skipping the other Warriors team because they won twice and moving on to the Cavaliers.

In one of the greatest playoff series of all time, the Cavaliers came back from down 3-1 to beat the 73-9 Warriors. We all know the story, but it’s still very impressive.

The Miami Heat have always had a great mentality when it comes to giving it their all. However, this is by far the best lesson they can learn from the Cavaliers.

No matter how bad things look, it’s important to always keep your head up and push forward. The Miami Heat need to embrace that mentality just like they always have.
