Miami Heat Roundtable: How Far Will This Team Go This Season – Kenneth’s Take

The Miami Heat have a tall task ahead of them to reach the NBA Finals, but it is attainable. They’ll first have to get out of their own conference, which they can.

My Take

Will they actually do it… is a whole other question. Listen, the Brooklyn Nets have the most top-end talent, as has been described already.

However and as also spoken of, the whole Kyrie Irving’s vaccine status of it all will be problematic. One, you lose a top talent in the league and one of the best scorers if he doesn’t come around.

Secondly, you have to deal with what becomes the distractions surrounding that. Then there are the Milwaukee Bucks.

The way that last season ended for Miami was a disaster. That should be fresh in their minds, from a motivational standpoint and as their defeating of the Bucks in the bubble motivated Milwaukee.

Even last year though and though the Bucks were a better team, they weren’t as far separated as the end results might have had one to believe. The Miami Heat were gassed, drained, and because of it all… couldn’t find anyone outside of Jimmy Butler to generate constant offense.

Even he, though, fell victim to it all at some point. The Miami Heat were outgunned, outmatched, outpaced, and blasted out of the playoffs.

With that, the Miami Heat’s new reinforcements and a group that includes a key someone they took from Milwaukee in P.J. Tucker, they should have enough to overcome them in a seven game series. Giannis would be the best player on the floor, but the next three might all play for Miami.

To nail it all home, the Nets probably end up finishing with the top seed. Let’s say Milwaukee finishes two and the Heat at three.

That ultimately sets up a Bucks-Heat matchup in the semi-finals where, as clearly hinted at above, the Miami Heat should beat the Bucks. It would be a long series, at least 6, but the Heat would win.

The Heat can beat the Nets, but you have to go with the talent there. For that reason and in another long series, the Miami Heat would probably lose to the Nets in the Eastern Conference Finals across seven games.

Official Prediction: Eastern Conference Finals

Again, the Heat aren’t that far off of the Nets either, as though their top-end talent is much greater than a lot of teams, the Heat’s intangibles and defense would give them a shot. That seems to be a running notion amongst all of the predictions though.

Things are about to tip-off with the preseason and that means that real ball isn’t that far off. Hopefully, they blow the expectations out of the water and on the way to an NBA Title.
