Miami Heat trade history with the Denver Nuggets

The most recent trade these two teams made was back around the time of the 2019 NBA Draft. The Miami Heat traded Bol Bol (the 44th overall pick) to the Nuggets for a protected 2022 second-round pick and $1.2 million in cash.

Bol Bol never ended up playing with the Miami Heat, obviously, so the Heat effectively just traded the pick. However, considering how little they got in return, and how average Bol has been, this trade is probably a wash.

The second trade Heat ever made with the Nuggets was during the 2000 season. Miami traded Mark Strickland and Voshon Lenard to the Nuggets for Chris Gatling and Eddie House.

Both Gatling and House played a decent amount of games with the Heat, with House making a significantly larger impact. However, Strickland and Lenard played a similar amount of time with Denver, so this is a close call.

The first even trade these two teams completed was a few days before the 1990 NBA Draft. The Heat traded Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf to Denver in exchange for two 1990 first-round picks which ended up being Willie Burton and Dave Jamerson.

Burton ended up playing a decent amount of games for the Heat, but Jamerson never did. Meanwhile, Abdul-Rauf played a huge role in Denver, so it’s safe to say the Miami Heat lost this deal.
