The Miami Heat played their second game of the preseason last night. They ended up taking home a 113-106 win over the Houston Rockets, improving to 2-0 in the preseason.

Although it may only be the preseason, the Miami Heat have looked really good thus far. While some teams are sort of mailing it in and just trying to get to the regular season, Miami seems to be going for the win every time.

Jimmy Butler played his first game of this campaign after sitting out the other day vs. the Hawks. He didn’t play a ton of minutes, but it was just nice to see him out there.

Other than that, though, what were some of the major takeaways from game two of the preseason. Who played well? Who played poorly? What can the Miami Heat do better moving forward?

Takeaways from the Miami Heat preseason game vs the Houston Rockets: Tyler Herro is absolutely incredible

After a dominating performance in Miami’s first preseason game, Tyler Herro did not slow down. He followed up that performance with another stellar night against the Rockets.

Herro ended the game with 24 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. He acted as the primary ball-handler for the Heat for much of the game and excelled in that role.

So far this year, Herro seems to be playing the game with a whole new purpose. He knows what he wants to do and then he goes out and does it.

This is the type of play that most fans wanted to see from Herro for all of last season. If the Miami Heat can get this version of Herro for the whole season, they’ll have a Sixth Man of the Year candidate on their roster.
